George is passionate about bringing high quality, face-to-face independent advice to clients throughout the North West. Preston-born, George formed the company in 2003 after advising clients, managing advisers and owning a previous IFA firm. George holds the Diploma in Management Studies (DMS) in addition to his degree and advisory qualifications.

James PorterJames Porter

James joined George in 2003 and is a founding partner of True Bearing. James, for many years, played a senior role for HSBC in the North West.

James has extensive experience in the management of financial advisers, and believes “the client always comes first”. He has outstanding knowledge in the area of trusts and their usage.

Mike has worked with George since 1997, and also became a founding partner of True Bearing in 2003.  Mike is immensely committed to his work with SMEs (small to medium enterprises) throughout the region.  He has proven to be very valuable in his work with Chartered Accountants.

Mark is the fourth director of True Bearing. He also joined True Bearing in 2003 as a founding partner. One of the North West’s leading IFAs, Mark is a member of the Bank of England North West Business panel.

Many of the region’s solicitors and accountants ask Mark to advise their clients.
