Following his MA graduation, David qualified as a financial adviser and followed his father John into the profession. Since joining True Bearing, David has developed a wide range of skills and is building a solid reputation for himself as a professional and enthusiastic Independent Financial Adviser.

Highly committed to being at the top of his game in financial planning, David continues to develop his knowledge by studying for advanced qualifications and holds specialist accreditations in taxation, trusts, mortgages, investments and pensions. He holds the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (AFPC) including the AF3 Pensions Model, and in 2009, David became an Associate Director of the Firm.

David’s clients welcome his knowledge and hands-on approach, but most of all his relaxed manner and courtesy. His ability to translate financial jargon into plain English is an important asset, when offering advice to his clients.

A great believer in regular face-to-face meetings with his clients, David’s aim is to help his clients build their futures. David prides himself on retaining the client-base he developed at the beginning of his career as an Adviser and his proudest moments are when his clients make personal referrals. Since 2007 David has been an active player in the team advising at the NHS pre-retirement seminars, and specialises in Investments and Portfolio design.

David advises clients of Christine Sharp & Co Solicitors in Heywood, and Affordable Accountants in Westhoughton and has clients throughout the North West and West Yorkshire.

Based in Bury, David is married to Joanne and together they have one daughter. A keen golfer, David never misses the opportunity to take to the green.

True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners have been named Financial Business of the Year at the Lancashire “Red Rose” Business Awards 2012.  The ceremony was held in front of over 800 guests from the business community at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

The “Red Rose” Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of real businesses throughout Lancashire.

True Bearing had been shortlisted alongside seven of the region’s superb financial firms.

The Judging Panel of the Red Rose Awards commented: “True Bearing are an excellent example of a Lancashire based business demonstrating excellent growth and expansion, and one that is not content with standing still. Judges felt their innovative approach to clients’ needs, their attitude to going above and beyond for clients, and the investment in their own people was certainly worthy of praise.“
