A BA (Hons) Classics graduate of University College London, Les started his career as a trainee accountant with an international firm of chartered accountants in their  Liverpool Office.  His strong ‘people skills’ led him to a career change to teaching where he also took on the role of an NVQ Assessor.  In 1999, he became an IFA, where he quickly developed skills in financial services.  He became a Certified Financial Planner in 2007 and also a Chartered Financial Planner in 2008 – leading qualifications for an adviser.

An experienced and highly qualified IFA, Les specialises in retirement planning and retirement options and holds the recognised qualification (G60) as a pension transfer specialist.  He also holds advanced qualifications in Long Term Care, Equity Release, Investments and Taxation and Trusts.

Les enjoys building long term relationships with clients – both on an individual basis and with businesses - and thrives on the challenge of finding the best financial solutions for them.
Les works closely with several local professional firms and frequently presents at Pre- Retirement and Mid-Career courses for employees at local NHS Trusts.

Les lives in Clayton-le-Woods, Lancashire. He is married to Helen and has 2 children.

True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners have been named Financial Business of the Year at the Lancashire “Red Rose” Business Awards 2012.  The ceremony was held in front of over 800 guests from the business community at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

The “Red Rose” Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of real businesses throughout Lancashire.

True Bearing had been shortlisted alongside seven of the region’s superb financial firms.

The Judging Panel of the Red Rose Awards commented: “True Bearing are an excellent example of a Lancashire based business demonstrating excellent growth and expansion, and one that is not content with standing still. Judges felt their innovative approach to clients’ needs, their attitude to going above and beyond for clients, and the investment in their own people was certainly worthy of praise.“
