Michael is a Director of True Bearing and is a member of the Personal Finance Society. A Chartered Financial Planner, Michael also holds the Advanced Financial Planning Certificate (AFPC), including the G60 pensions module, a qualification that is well regarded within the financial services professions.

Whilst advising across a broad spectrum, Michael particularly enjoys working in the Retirement and Corporate Financial Planning areas. He works closely with the accountancy and legal professions, having developed robust partnerships with companies throughout the North West.

Since joining the profession in 1995, Mike has always strived to have a high level of technical knowledge. His expertise and opinion is often called upon by his chartered accountant contacts in the local area. He has presented at a series of training seminars for the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Mike is highly thought of by his clients, many of which have been with him for many years now. Mike’s ‘superb’ client care and attention to detail is a regular response in client feedback, resulting in the majority of his clients providing personal recommendations.

One of Mike’s best kept secrets is that he is a keen and excellent guitarist, who has studied up to grade 8. Michael is married with three children and lives in the Warrington area.

True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners have been named Financial Business of the Year at the Lancashire “Red Rose” Business Awards 2012.  The ceremony was held in front of over 800 guests from the business community at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

The “Red Rose” Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of real businesses throughout Lancashire.

True Bearing had been shortlisted alongside seven of the region’s superb financial firms.

The Judging Panel of the Red Rose Awards commented: “True Bearing are an excellent example of a Lancashire based business demonstrating excellent growth and expansion, and one that is not content with standing still. Judges felt their innovative approach to clients’ needs, their attitude to going above and beyond for clients, and the investment in their own people was certainly worthy of praise.“
