Pennine Investment Seminar – Thursday 6 December 2012

Tish Hanifan Training Day
True Bearing held their second ‘Care in the Community’ Training Day in October and were delighted to welcome back the incomparable barrister and freelance lecturer, Tish Hanifan.
The training event targeted individuals and companies providing financial and legal advice to the elderly, their attorneys or families. Over 50 guests, mainly solicitors, attended the event.
“Best in Business” BIBAs 2012 Finalists
True Bearing has successfully reached the final round of the BIBAs 2012 competition in the category of Employer of the Year. The BIBAs aim to recognise business excellence and achievement in companies operating in Lancashire. Hailed as ‘the one they all want to win’, the BIBAs are the most successful event of its kind in Lancashire. In 2011 it attracted an exceptional 1079 entries (including 87 finalists) from some of Lancashire’s top performing companies.
The exciting culmination of the BIBAs will take place at the glittering awards ceremony on 31st August 2012 in a purpose built ‘Big Top’ on Avenham Park where businesses will celebrate in style. The BIBAs will also officially launch the Preston Guild.
Joint Venture Charters New Course for Jones Harris and True Bearing
Jones Harris Chartered Accountants and True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners are pleased to announce the launch of a new venture, designed to provide Jones Harris clients with complete advice in relation to both their corporate and personal finances. Jones Harris Chartered Financial Planning will provide highly qualified advice and financial planning solutions to individuals, businesses, trustees and attorneys.
Both firms have been working together on an informal basis over the last 10 years. Recognising that both firms share traditional values of integrity and transparency, and of delivering a high quality of service, the firms agreed to formalise their business relationship.

True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners have been named Financial Business of the Year at the Lancashire “Red Rose” Business Awards 2012. The ceremony was held in front of over 800 guests from the business community at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.
The “Red Rose” Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of real businesses throughout Lancashire. True Bearing had been shortlisted alongside seven of the region’s superb financial firms.
The Judging Panel of the Red Rose Awards commented: “True Bearing are an excellent example of a Lancashire based business demonstrating excellent growth and expansion, and one that is not content with standing still. Judges felt their innovative approach to clients’ needs, their attitude to going above and beyond for clients, and the investment in their own people was certainly worthy of praise.”

Driven to Extremes!!
We may well look back on 2011 as a year that forever changed the economic and political landscape of the world. At the very least, it will be a case study year for students of both economics and politics long into the future. For this year has proven no less eventful than 2008, with a bombardment of sensationalist headlines causing unprecedented volatility across the financial markets. Indeed, during one tumultuous week in August, the S&P 500 Index gyrated by more than 4% on four consecutive trading days – movements of such magnitude have never been seen before. Read More ……….

North’s View – This is the time to stay the course.
The traditionally quiet summer season has been anything but this year. The correction in equity markets and general risk assets over the past weeks has been brutal but it is the speed and size of the downward move, particularly in the last two days, that has taken the markets by surprise. This sell off has been prompted by a sharp increase in investor concerns in response to the ongoing delays and debate over a solution to the Eurozone Sovereign debt issue and the US debt ceiling against the backdrop of slowing global growth. Whilst this is clearly very worrying to investors and has caused considerable pain, it is important to keep in mind that this is more about Politics and Macro Economic issues than it is about Micro Economics - Read More……..

True Bearing Strikes Gold
True Bearing joins an elite group of 200 UK companies and organisations to achieve the new Gold standard Investors in People rating.

This undoubtedly supports personal and professional development, enabling people to reach their full potential. A culture exists where there is no ceiling on the progression of individuals.
