Making complex issues easy to understand and offering clarity in layman’s terms is at the heart of Rob’s approach to financial advice and planning.

A Civil Engineering graduate from Birmingham University, Rob felt he could better empathise with real people rather than that of the natural and built environment and embarked on the journey to become an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).  Rob qualified initially as Paraplanner at Inter-Alliance, where he first met George Critchley.

Rob qualified as an IFA in 2003 and has been with True Bearing since then.  With a natural flair to draw people out and encourage discussion of their individual financial position, Rob is able to quickly form a clear understanding of his clients’ aims and financial affairs –resulting in providing the  'best advice' available. 

Working as an IFA, Rob enjoys the flexibility and being in control of his destiny, just as Rob enjoys helping his clients gain control of their financial stability.

Rob relishes the interaction between himself and his clients.  He is highly committed to building client relationships and to help people determine their financial positions. That probably explains why feedback from Rob’s clients is exceptional!

Rob is active in the pension planning and investment areas. He is a regular presenter of retirement seminars to staff and management of the NHS Trusts throughout the North West.
Born in Delph, Lancashire, Rob still lives close by in Chadderton with his wife and two young daughters.  Rob enjoys a range of sports including football, squash and badminton.  A keen sports fan, his only weakness is that he supports Manchester City - Needless to say he is a patient man and his patience is paying off!

True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners have been named Financial Business of the Year at the Lancashire “Red Rose” Business Awards 2012.  The ceremony was held in front of over 800 guests from the business community at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

The “Red Rose” Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of real businesses throughout Lancashire.

True Bearing had been shortlisted alongside seven of the region’s superb financial firms.

The Judging Panel of the Red Rose Awards commented: “True Bearing are an excellent example of a Lancashire based business demonstrating excellent growth and expansion, and one that is not content with standing still. Judges felt their innovative approach to clients’ needs, their attitude to going above and beyond for clients, and the investment in their own people was certainly worthy of praise.“
