The IFA firm has long been a supporter of The Space Centre through Chairman, George Critchley, prior to the establishment of the firm 10 years ago. So it was fitting that the Centre would benefit as a result of this long-standing relationship from any proceeds and fundraising that took place on the night.
The SOS Fund was set up last year as an appeal by The Space Centre to save and expand the services they offer not only to the North West but to the rest of the country. The unique centre provides a large, soft padded, multi-sensory environment, with specialist lighting and equipment. Over 230 groups visit the centre every month. Groups range from special needs schools, respite care home, family booking to community home catering for young people and adults with physical disabilities.
The SOS fund will provide the much-needed monies to develop the Centre now that the new buildings have been secured. The services will be expanded to cater for more people and includes the opening of a cafe and social area, specialist changing facilities and a sensory garden.
