True Bearing in the Community
Here at True Bearing, we believe that we have a social responsibility to support our local community. We love to give back to the community which has been supporting us since our launch in 2003. A wide variety of events are organised by the True Bearing team throughout the year for a number of different charities. Kindhearted staff members at the True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners office have been busy supporting a variety of charities in the run up to Christmas.
Christmas Quiz, Jumper Day and Raffle
This year our chosen charity has been Derian House Children’s Hospice. Derian House provide valuable services to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. It costs a staggering £450 an hour or £10,800 a day to run the hospice so they do rely heavily on charitable donations to fund the wide range of work they do.
On the 13th December, staff held a Christmas Jumper Day, raffle and quiz in aid of the charity. As a result, they raised £436 which will help Derian House to carry on doing the valuable work they do. Employees of True Bearing dug out their festive jumpers and donned them for the day for a good cause! Kind staff members also donated prizes for the raffle. Donations included anything from homemade Christmas themed cakes to bottles of wine and boxes of chocolates. The Christmas themed quiz was created and hosted by two members of our Paraplanning team. We are very grateful for their efforts in writing and preparing the quiz.
Staff also brought donations of food in for our local food bank Living Waters Storehouse. Living Waters receive referrals from their partner organisations within the Chorley area who identify those in need of food and other guidance. Lots of bags of food and other essential supplies, such as toiletries were collected to be distributed to those in need this Christmas. Staff dropped these donations off with the charity on Friday 13th December to a warm and grateful welcome.
Winter Wear Clearout for British Heart Foundation
Staff at True Bearing are also looking ahead to 2020 in their fundraising efforts and are planning a clothes clear-out for British Heart Foundation in January. Employees are invited to root through their wardrobes and bring in anything they no longer wear. The items will then be donated to the British Heart Foundation to be sold in their shops. The proceeds will help fund the charities’ research into heart disease.
