food-for-thought-oct-16Employees at Chorley-based Chartered Financial Planners, True Bearing, have been challenged to battle it out and collect as much food and household goods as they can, each hoping to collect more than the other to donate to the charity, Chorley Help the Homeless. The challenge will take place over the week commencing Monday 31 October.

Not stopping there they are now calling on the local business community to join them in their challenge with the accumulation of non-perishable foods and household goods being handed over to the charity on 4 November.

Naming the challenge ‘Food for Thought’ ‘Thought for Food’ week, employees at the firm are encouraged to spend some of their time, thinking about others less fortunate than themselves.

Susan Peary, Managing Director at True Bearing, said:  “This isn’t the first time we have helped Chorley Help the Homeless, we try each year to help those people in Chorley who go hungry every day for a variety of reasons.  Chorley Help the Homeless are instrumental in providing emergency food and household items to people experiencing crisis in Chorley.

“This time, we’re not only asking our employees to help but also the local business community to support us in our bid to collect as much food as we can for people who need it most.

“We urge all those within the local business community to take part in the challenge and look forward to hearing stories of other firms taking part.”
