David was attracted to True Bearing in 2016 after spending most of his career working for main stream high street banks. For the previous four years David has worked for a national accountancy based consulting firm. This allowed him to broaden his experience by advising on a wider range of financial planning issues.
He joined True Bearing to concentrate on what he was qualified for and enjoys doing most – providing financial planning advice for clients. The enthusiasm and energy within the firm to get the right outcome for clients has really impressed David.
Most of David’s time is centred on looking after high net worth individuals both pre and post retirement. For David, the real enjoyment of being a financial adviser, is providing clients with bespoke, holistic advice that allows them to enjoy their lives, instead of worrying about what’s going on in the world financially.
He states that he often meets clients that have worked hard and saved, but don’t really know how to use their money. He describes it as the ‘best feeling’ when he highlights what options they have – in retirement, semi-retirement, helping other family members or just enjoying themselves more. All the technicalities behind this are his issue to solve, but it’s the outcome that benefits the clients.
David works with his clients to explain complex information clearly and simply. He genuinely wants to help people to get the best out of their money ensuring his clients get the right advice on investments, savings and pensions.
David is highly qualified, having attained Chartered Financial Planner status several years ago. He believes it is paramount to hold qualifications in order to advise his clients correctly, and to that end, he continuously undertakes additional learning to ensure that he is at the forefront of his industry.
David has an active family life outside work, with his wife and two children. When time allows, he enjoys riding his motorbike, walking his dog and supporting local community events. He also tries to get to the gym three times per week to keep some sort of fitness level!
