A Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society, Ian has achieved the highest financial services qualifications awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute. He is also an Accredited Member of the Society of Later Life Advisers.
Ian takes a life centred approach to financial planning helping clients to achieve the best life possible with the money you have, to provide you with a better Return on Life not just a better return on your investments. He passionately believes that financial planning done properly can change a client’s life.
Ian’s approach is to spend time understanding why money is important to you, what your values are and identifying your financial goals in line with these values. He will work in partnership with you to understand where you want to go and provide a financial masterplan of how to get there.
Ian works with his clients on an ongoing basis to help them manage their unique life transitions. There are over 59 transitions people can go through during their lives that can have financial implications. These can range from starting a family, school fee funding, moving home, a change of career, divorce, selling a business, retiring to looking after ageing parents. By holding regular planning meetings with clients, he adapts their plans to deal with their constantly evolving lives and allowing him to be proactive when dealing with their life transitions. Ian believes financial planning is an ongoing journey just like life.
Ian helps his clients to get financially organised, provides clarity and helps them to follow through on their financial commitments. He aims to impart ongoing wisdom to clients to increase their confidence around their money and to help them avoid making the big financial mistakes.
Ian also specialises in providing Later Life Advice to older clients in particular regarding Long Term Care Fee Planning and Inheritance Tax Planning.
Ian is married, with two young children and two “expensive” dogs. When he is not spending time with them he is either trying to sneak in a game of golf or cricket.
