Michael advises across a broad range of areas including pension and retirement planning, investments, inheritance tax and helping company directors with the many opportunities which are present.
Michael has built up a vast financial knowledge and experience since 2001 with both Santander and more recently Prudential.
Michael takes immense pride in his work. He strongly believes that money should offer people freedom, lifestyle, and peace of mind and should not be something which causes worry. In order to do this he builds trusting long term relationships with his clients. This allows him to implement bespoke financial plans tailored to their individual circumstances and needs.
Importantly, the financial services industry is incredibly complex, always changing and often communicates in jargon. Michael believes his job is to truly understand his clients’ goals, help them create a plan for these to be achieved, communicate in plain English and keep the plan on track.
He joined True Bearing in 2017. He was delighted to be offered the opportunity to work for the firm after meeting them and seeing that they share the same values. Like True Bearing, he truly believes in putting clients at the heart of everything he does. In his past work experiences he has been tied to a single or restricted number of product providers, meaning he was unable to fully meet the needs of his clients in all circumstances. Working for True Bearing, who are totally independent, means he now has no ties to any investment firm, insurance company, mortgage provider or bank. This enables him to deliver unbiased and objective based recommendations to his clients.
Michael is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. These titles are the most widely accepted ‘gold standard’ qualification available for professional financial planners in the UK. The qualification promotes the highest standards of integrity, technical competence and business capability.
Outside of work, Michael loves the outdoors. Golf and angling are his favourite sports; he says there is nothing better than being sat next to the water for a few hours taking in all that Mother Nature has to offer!
He also enjoys travel both in the UK and abroad. New Zealand is his favourite place to date, but he is looking forward to trying to find somewhere that is even better!
