Monica joined True Bearing to further her career in the world of independent financial advice. She had previously worked for a firm only offering restricted advice. Having spent the majority of her career with larger businesses, she was attracted to True Bearing as they were an ideal fit with her ambition to work for a strong local, community minded firm.
Monica is passionate about providing an excellent service and consistently puts the client at the heart of everything she does. Building trust with her clients is vitally important to her and she works extremely hard to establish a good rapport with all her clients. Keeping her clients up to date with relevant changes in taxation, regulation and economic developments is at the forefront of everything she does. This gives them peace of mind that their financial affairs are being dealt with in their best interest. Monica believes this is why so many of her clients recommend her to friends and family.
Providing advice on pensions, investments, protection and inheritance tax planning, Monica has a wealth of experience in putting together financial advice strategies for clients. She believes that financial advice is often filled with complicated technical jargon and can be very daunting for the client. She ensures that she breaks through the technical information and provides simple, understandable advice to help the client make the right choice in achieving their financial goals.
For six years Monica worked on the NHS pension scheme with hospital consultants, helping them through the pension reform minefield. She is very passionate about this area of work. She still sees it as a big issue going forward. She enjoys working through and creating solutions for her clients in this capacity.
Monica is highly qualified, having attained Chartered Financial Planner status and has recently become a Fellow. She believes her studies are an essential part of keeping abreast with the complex and ever changing financial regulatory landscape.
Outside of work Monica lives in Darwen with her husband and two children. She enjoys attending fitness classes at her local gym where she gets the motivation to keep up a fit and healthy lifestyle.

“Following my decision to take early retirement, I needed to find a company and Financial Adviser who could help me to get the most return on my money. Once I had found the company, I was put in touch with Monica to assist with my needs.
From our first meeting, I was really put at ease by Monica, in the knowledge that she understood my requirements and needs. Taking the time to access my personal situation, what I required now and in the future. In addition, Monica offered advice on areas up until then I had not thought about. The outcome is that I now have a portfolio of investments that I have confidence will provide me with the necessary finance for my retirement.
I found Monica to be professional, personable and knowledgeable of the finance industry and always kept me informed at every stage of the consultations. I would have no hesitation in recommending Monica to assist with your financial needs.”

“I met Monica after her company responded to my query through the NHS website. For quite a while I had been plucking up the courage to seek advice around my pensions and savings, what the figures meant in real life and could I afford to retire and when? I was very wary of the thought of speaking to a stranger and did check out her company’s website. It is something that was totally out of my comfort zone and a big step for me.
However, Monica contacted me and visited me at home, she arrived on time when she said she would. She listened carefully to what I wanted to know, wasn’t pushy and explained in ‘layman’s’ language how she could help and gave options. She is very professional, yet friendly in her approach and manner.
I feel much better since seeking help with this area of my life and look forward to seeing how my pensions and investments will perform. I now have the confidence to ask for help in this area, which I should have done a long time ago. She is also on hand for advice if needed and will give regular feedback.
So many thanks to Monica for your assistance and advice in helping me with my pensions and savings. I look forward to our next meeting.”

“We first met Monica in late Spring 2017, when she took over from a colleague who had left the Company. We were initially apprehensive, as we had discussed our financial needs and wishes in depth with the previous Financial Adviser, although no decisions had been made. At our first meeting, Monica was pleasant and approachable. She was able to summarise and make good recommendations based on the notes from the previous discussions, our current requirements and tools available to her which was reassuring.
We have found Monica to be friendly, professional and punctual. She is also willing to listen and if she is unable to answer a query, she will seek out the answer and get back at a later date. We understand that she is available if we need to speak to her between planned contacts. It is also apparent she keeps up to date with changes in the financial world when she explains current financial situations. We look forward to her next visit.”
