Paul is very passionate about delivering a high quality financial planning experience, presented in a manner that is clear and meaningful for his clients whilst also engaging and empowering them into delivering the solutions they seek. Through this approach, he creates confidence and trust in all the client relationships he develops.
Originating from Blackburn, Paul left school to become a precision engineer before moving into financial services in 1990. His background has seen him work for some of the most recognisable financial companies and Government organisations within the UK.
In 2013 he achieved Chartered Financial Planning status, widely accepted as the “gold standard” qualification available to professional financial advisers in the UK. Awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute, this qualification promotes the highest standards of integrity, technical competence and business capability. Paul is working towards becoming a Fellow of ‘The Personal Finance Society’ during 2019.
Whilst advising in all areas of financial planning, Paul specialises in the Pre/Post Retirement and Corporate Financial Planning areas. Working closely with the accountancy and legal professions, especially in the area of divorce, he provides invaluable advice and support on financial matters, especially pensions and the family home that typically represent the majority of matrimonial assets to be assessed.
Paul’s ethos is simply to put the client first, helping them find a way to live their ‘life plan’ and ‘be the person they truly want to be’. He does this by helping his clients identify and understand the ‘unique/personal aspirations’ and ‘key values’ that matter to them; to understand the aspects that control and shape their lives, like finances, and thus recognise how money is the ‘enabler’ to help them overcome any obstacles and achieve their ‘life plan’.
Paul had been aware of the professional reputation of True Bearing Chartered for many years whilst advising around the North West area and quickly realised that this was the type of financial planning firm that not only shared his ethics, but would be ideally positioned to provide him with the perfect opportunity to deliver an even better service to help clients achieve their ‘life plan’…..so he joined them.
Married to Maria with twins, Paul has lived in Sabden for the past 21 years. His passions outside of ‘financial planning’ are film, music, golf, football and walking. Most of all, Paul enjoys spending as much quality time with his wife as possible…….the centre of his own ‘life plan’.
