Entries now open for all Lancashire Junior Schools.
Following the incredible success of the Last Choir Singing Competition 2015, True Bearing Chartered Financial
Planners in partnership with The Lancashire Music Hub, Blackburn with Darwen Music Hub and Blackpool Music
Service, are delighted to announce the launch of their 2016 competition.
The competition is open to Lancashire junior school children, Year 3 – Year 6. The winning choir will receive £1,000 in vouchers towards music equipment for their school. Each runner-up will receive £500 and winners of the regional heats will receive £250. The winner will also be awarded with the True Bearing Last Choir Singing 2016 Trophy.
Each choir will compete in regional heats throughout February and March 2016, with the overall winners of the coveted title ‘Last Choir Singing 2016’ being announced at the Grand Final at King George’s Hall in Blackburn on Friday 17 June.
At the regional heats, competing choirs will perform in front of a live audience in front of expert judges, with the best performances taking the choirs through to the next rounds.
Finalists will then compete for the overall title ‘Last Choir Singing 2016’ at the Grand Final, with additional performances from special celebrity guests. The final takes place in front of a live sell-out audience.

George Critchley, Chairman of True Bearing Chartered, said: “Last year’s competition was a huge success with around 1,500 children taking part in 45 choirs. We are delighted to bring it back for a second year and we aim to increase the number of contestants to 5,000. The UK has one of the most respected Choral traditions in the world and I am so proud to be part of that tradition with our support and sponsorship of Last Choir Singing.
“We wanted to give something back to a community that has supported our firm over the last 12 years. As organiser and main sponsor, True Bearing is keen to raise awareness of singing in junior schools and to demonstrate that music education is alive and well in Lancashire!
“I wish all the schools taking part this year the very best of luck.”
Entry is free! Entry Deadline is 30 October 2015.
In addition to True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners, Last Choir Singing is also supported by Pennine Wealth Solutions, Chorley Building Society and BBC Radio Lancashire. They work in partnership with Lancashire Music Hub, Blackburn with Darwen Music Hub and Blackpool Music Education Service.
